New guy here. I don't have a GMT800 as of now but, I'm considering purchasing one from out west. Right now I have a few different vehicles. The primary driver is 2008 HHR we've had for over 17 years and just crossed over the 240k miles mark. Hoping to make it to at least 245k miles if not 250k miles. I live in the "Rust Belt" and it's getting pretty rusty after being driven here for 17 years and 18 years as this upcoming fall.

I do have a GMT800 story. Back when I was much younger I almost bought a 2000 GMC Sierra Sportside with the 4.3 and 5 speed manual brand new. It was a mostly bare truck. Anyways, I just thought I would introduce before making my first post.

Welcome. Southern trucks are also good for no rust. My 04 spent majority of its life in Florida or North Carolina before I got it in 2016. It was rust free when I got it but it’s starting to show slight rust above right rear tire. I’ve only been in Kentucky for about 4 years.

Just wanted to say thank to you everyone thus far. I'm not originally from this state or region of the country. Hate that they use the brine road chemicals here but, accepting it for now. I realize coastal rust isn't good either and different except sometimes from the top down. Anyways, thank you all again.
