Stall converter

I have a 2001 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 with a BTR stage 2 V2 truck cam with 33” tires. It’s pretty sluggish on the bottom end and can’t even break the tires lose. I’m looking into getting a stall converter in the 2800-3000 range, I tow with it and daily drive it so I don’t want anything too crazy. I’m just wondering what size? From the research I’ve done I think a 2800-3000 258 mm would be the best for my setup. Let me know what you guys think and if anyone is running a similar setup

What gear ratio do you have?

The cam works with gear ratio, tire size and torque converter stall speed. It's best to call someone like Circle D and share that information with them so they can recommend the correct stall speed.

The cam did not make breaking the tires loose any easier, did it? (Taller tires didn't help either.)
A higher stall-RpM will strain the transmission, even when you're not towing, even with an ATF cooler upgrade, moreso when you're towing.
You want more power UNDER 3000RpM. A higher stall-RpM doesn't add more power under 3000RpM.

I think without gears it will still feel sluggish.

Fixed it. Your Sierra needs a better tow rating.
Your Sierra needs 4.10, possibly even 4.30. Axle gears will not make your engine any stronger, but it will make your VEHICLE stronger.
