I for one would be happy if this place came alive again. There just isn’t many focused forums out there on these trucks. And frankly what I see and read on Facebook, well let’s just say the content leaves a lot to be desired.

I have been at the Tahoe/Yukon Forum for 11 years and at the GMT400 Forum for 12 months and another Silverado/Sierra Forum for 2 months and I have wanted a Forum for just the GMT800 trucks/suv's and here we are. The owners here are the same as GMT400 and the Tahoe/Yukon Forum and they asked if I would help with this forum and here I am.

I hope I get to meet you in person someday! Never know?
Nothing special here. Started out in high school and loved photography. My draft number was 2. My dad was in the NAVY during Korean war and so I decided to join NAVY. I got lucky and because of my photography training, worked at a small town newspaper in Mo. during high school, the NAVY put me on the USS Kitty Hawk CV63 right out of boot camp. Almost 3 years of war and the rest in peace time. Got out and I was a professional drinker. NAVY teaches you good at that. My uncle, in Paradise, Ca., was an aircraft mechanic in the Korean War and had his own auto repair shop in Paradise and he put me to work and taught me, so I would not drink so much. He said, "At 6'4" and 275 lbs., I was safer in the shop than in a bar. Moved back to Mo. and wrenched and ran shops and then moved to Oregon at end of 1995. Retired in 2022. Still love to turn wrenches on my own terms and do not drink any more. I love my girl and love no rust GMT800 trucks, here in Eugene, Or.

I love being on the forums and especially this one.

If you ever buy that big block Chevy engine, I have for sale, I will be there.

As the forum gets bigger, we can make suggestions to the mods to expand the forum offerings. I got them to open up Lounge and Classifieds sections.

There is another forum that has too many sections, IMO, they concentrate on Silverados and Sierras and nothing else but all years are lumped together and there is a section for each individual engine. Too much, again IMO.

I think we should have separate owner's build threads eventually but that may be relegated to just the Garage section for now. Never mind, I see the Under Construction section.

We can have separate GMT800 sections for Tahoes, Yukons, Suburbans, Silverados. Sierras and Avalanche. Open to any and all suggestions.

I will be getting deeper in the work on my new 2004 Silverado K2500HD and steps/pics will be posted. I also plan to post steps/pics of my ongoing side mechanical work.

But please please please, give me all your suggestions, so I can forward to @Shaggy and @Griffin. Let me make something clear. I am not a mod, not even close. I can just suggest to the owners and I promise to always get back to any of you.

A couple sticky threads in the Site Info would be nice. 1. "The Rules" would be nice so we can refer people to them. 2. "How the Forum Works" be great. Like how do you get from new member to member to well-known member. And when when you become a full member and what the benefits are. Also encourage everyone to like other peoples posts, I have noticed that wasn't done here much in the past.

3. "How to Use the Forum" General information people would need to know who haven't been on a forum before. Like how to set up you signature, where to find the threads you posted, how to include pictures, stuff like that, the basics.
