    1999 1500 RCLB 2WD Rear Brake Issues

Over time, the rubber brake lines will break down internally. I just ran through a similar issue on front brake thinking it was stuck caliper. Replaced both front brake lines and smoking caliper issue went away.

My new to me 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab

In the extended cab doors, you can fit 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 round if you don’t mind opening the hole a bit. You just have to watch the mounting depth. I’ve done both in extended cabs. Red is current, gray was last truck. I’ve always used those baffles.

Finally painted top bumper pad. Used Ace Hardware Rust Stop Satin Burgundy. Very close match to Sport Red Metallic.

    Axles/ suspension

Here is one company that I know of that does SAS conversion kits. I have bought a few things from them back when I had my 87 Chevy. They make quality stuff and I would buy from them again. I will agree with ORVietVet, conversions like this are never cheap unless you can do all of the...

    1999 thru 2006 GMT800 K1500 ext cab

You might want to give anyone else an idea of how far (distance) you are willing to travel for the right truck. I’m assuming Oregon and Washington.

From Bronco to Burb - new to me 2002 Z71 Suburban

Some. I bought the 04 Sierra wheels back around 2019 ish. I used aerosol aircraft stripper to remove the clear coat. This picture would have been just after the clear coat was removed. Then last year started using a wire brush in a drill to remove any surface scale from one of the worst wheels...

Welcome from Kentucky. Looks good. I’ve managed to strip the clear coat off the Sierra wheels and was hoping to get them polished before winter but time is running out again

Is there a way to remove the oil filter w/o spilling oil?

When I worked on semis, we used to punch a hole in the bottom to drain them, but those were big oil filters. Center punch or a long drift punch did the trick.

    Lesson learned - GMT900 Regret, GMT800 Reset

Welcome from Kentucky. Good to see someone making gadgets for these trucks. I’ve been checking out designs on Thingyverse. There some neat things available to 3D print for the GMT800.

    4silverado's 2004 Silverado

Got 2 things done today. Had to replace a tailgate handle bezel and needed to put the trailer brake controller back in (excuse the mess). I like it there versus in front of my leg/knee. It just sits in there, it isn’t bolted in.

    Brakes jamming up

I recently had an issue with left front almost locking up. Wheel was extremely hot. I replaced the caliper thinking it was freezing but issue returned. Found out it was a bad brake line. Replaced both. Been running fine since.
