Welcome to your first post on the forum.

So, what is the front seat set up? You did not say. If you have 2 bucket seats now, do you not have a full console already? Need more details.

I just did a "Search", at the upper right of this page and there are several threads/posts about doing this.

Anyone install a full console in a 03-07 crew cab? I would like to hook up the rear vents for the back seat. Am i crazy for doing this? I have access to the truck the console came out of to get ducts etc...
Thanks
At least I am trying to help. I see no responses at the Silverado/Sierra Forum post that you did. At least there you shared that you have a 2005 2500HD.

I must not be understanding you correctly. If you have access to the truck the console came out of and I am assuming that you have taken the jump seat out, correct? Then I assume, I hate doing that, that you have the dash area connections figured out, right? The duct work travels to the rear of the console so that it exits at the back.

So, I can only assume, again I hate that, the problem is mounting the console and the attaching at the front dash area. Can you supply pics to help me?

Plus, when you finally do this, you should do a video for Rumble or you tube and at least here, because, since you cannot find info ANYWHERE, you will be the first to do it.

I appreciate the feedback. I only looked under my dash to see if the small ac duct piece that connects directly to the console from the console truck would replace a similar piece on my truck but it does not. I think most people don't bother hooking up the rear vents. It's tight under the dash and hard to see what needs to come apart to change ducts. I was hoping someone at least tried and said hell no or it was easy and what parts do I need from the console truck. If i need to swap heater boxes then I'm not doing it

That was my thoughts, too. The heater box may be different. BUT, I know vehicle companies like to save money. Making 2-3 different designs of heater boxes, just for either having a console or not having a console, does not make sense, but we are also dealing with designers and engineers that do not care. There is typically a transmission hump and just above that, there is a floor duct. Install a console and route the duct work and away you go. I would assume that the console out of the other donor truck would allow you to see how it routes to the console and then check to see if has any difference in your truck.

I have an 04 2500HD and I went out and pulled the cup holder insert to look forward. It's a no go. There is plastic bracing there that blocks the view. As the console moves forward from the cup holder, it is right at the bottom of the dash and there is a skirt on both sides of the tunnel. Cannot see what I wanted to and am unwilling to tear apart. You have a crew cab with a front seat design that I am not familiar with. With the jump seat, there is no rear air, a/c or heat?

Hard to tell in the pics, my buddy is parting out the truck so I'm going back there tomorrow with some tools and a sawzall. I'll at least try to grab some duct work even if i don't use them. To your point about gm saving money, these trucks are definitely built with parts in place for multiple options. I already added fog lights, tow mirrors with directional and trans temp gauge. All the wiring was already there. I'm hoping its one duct I have to change.

You do have a 2005 2500HD? I have an 04 2500HD and have transmission temp gauge. Your truck did not have transmission temp gauge on the cluster? Is it a "Work Truck"?

Make sure you post pics of all this research and work.

An LS 2500HD did not have transmission temp gauge? I did not know that. I did a transmission temp gauge cluster on my 2005 Tahoe Z71 and the wiring WAS there. I also thought a G80 was just an option, LS or LT.

I wish both my GMT800 trucks were cloth seats and wish my 2500HD was 3.73 gear instead of 4.10 and wish my 2005 Tahoe Z71 was 3.73 gear instead of 3.42. I do have a "Traditional Tune" by Black Bear Performance, on the Tahoe, so it woke up a bit.
