I have a 2005 chevy silverado 5.3 with the 4l60e and have an issue with it now. The truck will start and idle perfect. But when I put it in gear it will stall. It brought up an engine light and I read the codes and it says it has a faulty knock sensor in bank 2. I was just wondering what else should i check before buying the sensors? It drove great before and I bought it around a week ago and now is doing this. But the truck will run and drive when on the road, just when at low rpm it will stall. So what else should I check before spending money on sensors?

Right. It only stalls when it is in gear. And when it is in park or neutral it idles just fine.
Interesting. May be more on the transmission side, perhaps...

I have a 00 K3500 that did this in gear, until it warmed up. It was a problem area in those years, but that was a 4L80e transmission...

I'm not an expert on the 4L60e, but may want to look at the ATSG manual. There's free PDFs floating around the Internet.

Let's talk about some basics first. Get some MAF cleaner and clean the MAF. Get some throttle bore cleaner and clean the throttle bore. What do the plugs look like?

This sounds like a classic old style Idle Air Control problem but that is no longer used.

Check the TPS for voltage changes.

Do you have a Live Data scanner?

I havent cleaned the maf yet or throttle body but i will do that tomorrow. And when i first bought the truck it had a rough idle so I replaced all the spark plugs and O2 sensors so they are brand new. and yes, I do have a live data scanner.
Please, in the future, if you have questions or concerns, share recent work or repair attempts. Thanks.

First, welcome to the forum.

If you recently did the O2 sensors, check your live data on fueling. Fuel trims, O2 readings, etc. Could be just flat out too lean or rich and when loaded it dies.

Okay, I replaced the knock sensors and the code went away but still is stalling. I have figured out that the truck runs and drives great but after about 5 minutes it dies at low rpms. It will die when I come to a stop and will bog out under 500 rpm and just die. It has no codes now but still dies. I am going to read fuel codes and see if the problem is there or if it is my trans. But like I said when I drive it shifts just fine until low rpm. If you have any tips or have an idea of what else I should check please let me know. Thanks.
