Was going to put this in under construction but it not a gmt800 so figured this was probably the right place. This is going to be a slow build. I usually only get about 1 evening every couple weeks to work on it.

Anyway on valentines day weekend 2021 I rescued this lovely family vehicle from sinking any further into the earth. I have an awesome wife who puts up with stuff like this.

My boss had an 86 k10 chassis sitting out back that was going to be used for a different project which wasnt happening anymore. So he said I could have the parts. Since i figured chevy parts would be easier to find than International parts, i started swapping. First the axles. And had to find some cheap wheels that fit the chevy axles to keep it moveable. The axles went in very smoothly with little modification. Bcause i went from a drop axle on thw front to straight across the back needed a 3" lift block.20210614_170254.jpg20210614_185154.jpg20210614_203203.jpg20210614_204902.jpg20210709_182640.jpg20210709_183426.jpg20210709_193208.jpg20210709_203615.jpg20211001_144416.jpg

Next I had planned to use the engine and everything from the k10. But i took the heads off and one cylinder was badly rusted and pitted. So I found another 305 that was running. Got the engine trans and transfercase in. Shortened the driveshaft and got that hooked up now. I'll get a proper one built later but for now i can at least test the rest of the vehicle and eventually move it around. Thats about where it sits for now. Need a few brake lines to the back, wite the engine, mak a shifter, then maybe I'll see if the transmission is any good. Also found a hood for it as the original was missing. 20210531_185546.jpg20211022_171320.jpg20211022_191701.jpg20211023_002014.jpg20211022_210428.jpgScreenshot_20220204-210805_Instagram.jpgScreenshot_20220204-210751_Instagram.jpg
The look I'll probably go with is clear coat again and if I can find some 33x12.50 15 tires id like to run the steel wheels.

Not yet. It's all just sitting in there still. Hopefully next time i work on it i can get it to move. And maybe even stop. I did hotwire the engine the day after i installed it and it did run. So thats a bit of a relief.

Wow. I'd would have scooped that up for $300 as well! Nice buy!

Not very exciting update but got the brakes plumbed and wiring tied up in the engine bay. Able to start it with the key properly now. Haha

Yeah theyre just sitting in it. I did signs over top on my other ratrod. Ill repair this floor properly first then maybe put signs on top. This kept my tools from falling through though.
