Hi everyone I put in a 85-02 radio with the acc knob outside of the volume in my 01 1500 and when I turn the truck on the volume goes everywhere when I adjust it and to fix it I have to turn the fan on and off and turn the SCV up and down for volume to adjust normally. But NOW when it’s “working” there is a buzz coming from it and when I press the gas it gets louder and when I go faster it’s louder so I’m pretty sure it’s the scv. Was looking for a fox or how to bypass it by grounding off the wire or something but diagrams have not helped. Any help is appreciated

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

Hopefully a knowledgeable member will chime in with info. If a stereo system is not plug and play, I am lost. BUT, it does sound like a ground problem based off of what I have read before.

Please post some pics of your truck.

Pin 16 should be a dark green with white stripe. That is your vehicle speed sense wire. You can try pulling that pin. I wouldn't ground it out, just tape it off. See if that helps.

It’s most likely electronic noise not speed variable volume
85 -02 radios only match in the size they open. 85 radios are different. What year truck is this and what exact head unit is this
