Gmt800 FTW!
Even though we sold the 2004 K2500HD CCSB, because it was just too much truck for my girl, this video piqued her intetest in getting another truck and will be a GMT800, like I want. She does love my GMT800 2005 Tahoe Z71. Gonna see a 2000 K1500 ext cab short bed Silverado LS 141k miles and a 2003 C1500 ext cab short bed LT 151k miles and is immaculate. Even has a clean canopy on it. She likes that. The 2000 has a 4.8 and the seller says has all records. The 2003 has a 5.3 with all records. See where this goes.
She has wanted another truck since we sold her 134k miles ext cab K2500 light duty 1990 Silverado. It was a great GMT400 truck.

You may want to dig into your Wisconsin restrictions on antique/vintage tags.
My GMT400 is a 1996 and at antique status in Alabama this year as well, but here there are a lot of restrictions on vehicles with antique tags. Basically can't use it for general purpose transportation or hauling, and kinda restricted to use in parades and limited road use. Our state says in the law that vehicles with the tag must be "operated as a collector's item, including participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours, parades, and not used for general transportation purposes". That has kept me from pursuing it just yet. I may do that one day, but not just yet.

Wisconsin Antique plates are for MUCH older equipment, like 1930s or something with more restrictions. the Collectors plate is much more forgiving but i detailed the restrictions somewhere on this forum. Basically, no commercial use, no largely changed from stock body changes, no trailering a load over a abysmal size honestly, and no more than 500lb in the bed, and no operating in january except 5 days you can request permission for to use it in that month.
but you MUST have a normal plated vehicle at the same time

I can handle the memes and the occasional GOBBLESS thing. But it seems like the only thing I see sometimes. I was on the threatening auras group for a about a week and it was pretty ridiculous. Some days the gmt800 reddit is like that all day other days are fine.

The 2000 K1500 LS sold and the 2003 C1500 LT was great on the outside and was well taken care of, internally and externally, but had oil leaks at pan and at lower intake, seeping water pump, needs tires, brake pulsation, a/c cool and not cold, fog lights inop, canopy 3rd brake light 1/3rd inop, canopy interior light inop, driver's door master switch plate broken, internal rattle on passenger door when closing, pulled right and steering wheel crooked-even after just getting a new rack and pinion and alignment.
They wanted $11,995. I came back after inspecting at my house, with the list from above. He said it is a 23 year old truck. I said, "I completely agree but you are asking newer/lower mileage truck price. He asked what I would offer for it. I said my top price was $5k. He scoffed. I said you will sell that truck to someone but not me.
Also, almost forgot, had 2 codes in it, P1515 and P1516. Have to do with communication problems between TPS and throttle actuator. Not a speck of rust on it though.
The search continues.

Definitely not worth the price point. If he did just a minimum of work fixing those things he would be a lot closer.

All of them have issues, saw someone suggest putting dish soap in coolant. haha
The coolant and transmission fluids, power steering fluid and brake fluid, had all been addressed within the last 10k miles, according to the CarFax. The brake pulsation was obvious and was caused by front and rear pads done at different times within the last 25k miles but were just pad slaps. Never a note about addressing the rotors. Rear diff fluid done 15k ago. Plugs and wires done at 105k miles. Fuel filter and fuel injection flush done at 95k. For some reason, not explained, the throttle body was done at 125k.

12k is way too much, even with all of that fixed it is a lot. I admit I look at body, and interior condition, as mechanicals are easier to take care of. I hope you find something good, it took me a while too.

i wouldnt advise dish soap because when you get up to temp its not gonna do much about removing things from the system youd want ... like rust or sludge. If you had oil in it... thats an interesting choicde but if you dont get it too hot , maybe it would work.. but whatever else reason they had.. probably not wise

Another classic is the big long series of posts, to find they are trying to use a seven year old battery. Dish soap ... hot coolant will steam clean oil, fine in the cooling system, terrible in the crankcase (bearing journals). I actually don't use any additives. Though if you have to flush your cooling system, I think prestone might still make a kit.
