I decided to clean my AC coils last week and sprayed them with a coil cleaner and flushed it out. The little rubber boot was kinda clogged at the firewall so I thought I’d just leave it off. Well that was a huge mistake, that boot must have something to do with back pressure and allowing the water to flow correctly because I flooded my passenger side. After reinstalling the boot the water flows perfectly again.

Like the title says, "lesson learned". There is always a reason that GM installs a part on the assembly line. I have left things off before but only after I researched to make sure of the consequences. Glad it all worked out.

How did you get from the a/c condenser coils, in front of the radiator, to the firewall area?

I was replacing the fan relay and fan motor and was able to reach it from there. I used a coil cleaner and hosed it out. Actually worked great besides me leaving that part off. I cut the wet under carpet insulation and put in new stuff. It wouldn’t dry.
