I just found this forum. I've been in the GMT400 forum. Although I did get some good info from there. My truck has a Mfg date of 12/99. So I guess that makes it a 2000? Anyway , good to be here.

Depends on what actual model your truck is. A manufacture date of 12/99 has two possibilities. It could still be a GMT400, or a GMT800 - because both were available at the time. What ya got?
