Welcome to the forum from Oregon.
Sounds like the "VHO" truck, basically GMC's version of the Silverado SS, minus the body kit stuff. The SS's were AWD from 2003-2005 but in 2005 RWD became available as well. In 2006 they were RWD only. Still on the 4x4 chassis with the torsion bars up front instead of coil springs like a regular RWD truck has. The RWD SS's also got the hybrid rear axle (14 bolt 9.5" semifloater)I got a 2005 sierra with a hybrid g80 4l65 with the lq9 and 2wd the part that is confusing is it has 4wd suspension but its factory 2wd.
Great advice; AFAIK the quadrasteer trucks were 2002-2005; I just tried car-part and selected 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 (1999-up), bed, pickup, and the 3rd option down in the choices you'll see Qudrasteer (opt NYS) ... I actually found a lot!car-part.com can do the search for you with your zip code as a base and span out from there.

Have you run your VIN through the free decoder at GMPartsgiant? Might shed some light on the packages. https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/vin-decoder.html
