2004 Suburban 2500 - 8.1/4L85e

I've actually had this since 2021, but its been on a journey. It really was in such perfect shape when I got it, unfortunately it was stolen in 2022, and recovered a few days later.

I found it still drivable, but missing my old ranchhand, prodigy P3, floormats, all the back seats, hitch receiver, t-case computer, lots of cut wires, and the cats. The driver door had a hole where the handle use to be and they backed the back left corner into something. After the dust settled I've been slowly fixing/replacing everything myself.

Its mostly back or past where it was. In the last 6months, I've made a set of move bumpers, and put together some used 17in wheels / 285/75/r17 tires off FB to really rebirth the thing.

I do all my own stuff, 3D printing, tuning, its fun to learn.

Thinking about putting in a new headunit, something called a (don't laugh) Mekede dudu7 and installing 360 cameras and TPMS.
Also thinking about doing an efan conversion, thinking maybe I can make something using the fan off the 2016+ Camaro SS, but two of them and with a PWM controller.

Welcome, neighbor! Sorry to hear about the theft (Houston is thick with it as I'm sure you already know) but glad to hear you got it back mostly in one piece, especially the drivetrain.

Welcome from the upstreams of the Trinity River :).

That's an awesome rig you got there.

I've got an 06 Suburban 2500 2wd daily driver, and a 04 project suburban 2500 4x4 I'm slowly restoring. I love these SUVs.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

That color is Indigo Blue, correct?

Thanks everyone. It's dark ming metallic blue (code 25U), I'd say the camera captured the color pretty well on my screen. I cut, welded, painted new steel for the drivers handle area and its not too bad, but I routinely see doors for ~$150 just hard to find blue, then its usually one of the lighter shades.

I was really surprised to see it again, it had done about 800-1000 miles in those few days and had 4 empty jerry cans laying around in the back. I think they did a border run and back, then went to chop it and maybe they saw some of my handiwork or just did the easy stuff and stopped. It ended up in someone's back yard a few miles from where it was stolen. Insurance was tricky, but it actually worked out after some careful back and forth.

My buddy had his LLY stolen while he was out of town the following year, never seen again :(
