What trucks came with them?

This pic here is a good demonstration. the upper part is like mine but it has the cutout for the fog lights done
mine is a 2500HD , maybe that didnt get them? Are they beneficial or just kills my clearance?

I've never paid attention to that piece actually on the GMT800s. Maybe it was part of that running change to help fuel economy (I think that was on the GMT800 deleted features thread, maybe?) or something?

At my company we have 2 F150s of the previous generation and the lower valance is really low. Figured it had to do with MPGs.

I wonder if it can be added to trucks that didn't have it? Not that I would want to, but if anyone else is interested?

Around here, I've only seen them on 2wd half tons. They don't do anything other than hide your undercarriage  from the front.
I cant imagine id benefit much with the large clearance, steps, and large drivettrain.

Maybe if someone put a skid plate (factory accessory that can be still purchased) and that , would benefit a 4wd

Wonder if it increases the efficiency of the air flow into the condensor for trucks with a clutch fan and no electric fans
As it stands, a snow pile or curb would likely rip it off , so i probably wouldnt buy a new one for the sake of trying

I only noticed that this part being listed as Chevy only.
I didn't notice a GMC version.

Does anyone know if one exists or tried to put the Chevy unit on a GMC?

LMC Truck. GMC only shows 1 part number. Chevy has 2 part numbers depending on 2WD or 4WD. Part numbers are not the same for GMC or Chevy.IMG_1657.pngIMG_1655.pngIMG_1656.png

Says 2005-2007 Sierra.

What makes a 2003 bumper different than a 2005? I was under the impression that is was the same bumper?

Either way, I have a 2000 Sierra. No factory holes on the bottom of the bumper.

I wouldn't mind adding the holes to add it, I just wonder how the fitment would be?

Bumper itself is pretty much the same, but GM added a lil extra lower lip in '05 to improve highway MpG by 1. ONE.

Yes, the whole point of this thread is about that lip.

Yes, gm added that lip in 2005. But it's as the same bumper as a 2003. So does that mean that a 2003 already has the holes?

I have a 2000, mine doesn't have the holes.
My thought is to add the lip to close up the bumper to ground gap a little.

I was inquiring if anyone had added it to the earlier yrs & how well it fit.
