I need to replace the seat cushion on my drivers seat, not a huge deal but I have the opportunity to pick up a in great shape electric seat off of another rig. My current setup is full manual, anyone here install and wire in power for an electric setup? I know it will bolt straight in but there is no harness for power so it will be a custom job to get it running. 2001 Silverado 2500HD 4 door.

Welcome!

I did the opposite on my 99 Silverado: from electric to manual (wanted a jumpseat in lieu of the console).

Just make sure the seat is from a 99-02, because I want to say 03+ had some differences? Maybe, I can't remember.

Compare the diagrams on charm.li for differences (if any). Here's the link to start: https://charm.li/Chevrolet/2001/K 2500 Truck 4WD V8-6.0L VIN U/Repair and Diagnosis/Diagrams/Electrical Diagrams/Seats/Power Seats Schematics/

Also, the electric seats develop some slop on the little "blocks" that hold the mechanism. Mine had that issue when I took them out. It's very annoying driving around. I don't think the replacement part is that expensive, but kinda a PIA to do. If donors have that issue, go ahead and replace them before swapping them.

Sure, nothing wrong with that. I got the fold down console as @Tonimus .

I always hated that fixed console since I bought the truck. If I dropped something on the passenger floorboard, you have to reach and rub your ribcage on the console. I also deleted the console on my 06 Suburban. My little boy ALWAYS asks if he can ride in the front jumpseat when the Silverado or Suburban is hauling the kiddos for Saturday kids' games. Sometimes it's actually needed for the seat. 6 people on the Silverado extended cab and 9 people on the Suburban (also swapped the middle captain seats for a full width seat on that vehicle.)

...recall I have 8 kids! If we all need to go together, we drive the 12 passenger Express G3500 van.

I thought you meant the non folding jump seat just like my truck. you meant the console that flips, vs the dedicated center console which takes up a lot of space all the time you replaced
