The fully digital cluster has finally made its way to us. I'm surprised it's took this long. But it ain't no pocket change at $1600

Is it just plug and play?
As much as I like stock, it would be hard for me to do $1600. But it's not my money, is it.

It's Chinesium. All the regulars have it. Amazon actually looks the cheapest. Found one for about $750.

It looks pretty cool, but I agree that $1600 is too steep. $800 would seem fair.
Dakota Digital instrument clusters for the older trucks are around $1200 IIRC. Guys doing LS swap with deep pockets will spend that kind of money on those.
We don't have to worry about LS swaps because our trucks already have them, and our clusters are integrated and pretty reliable and accurate. So it's basically just for looks?

I think it’s a generational thing. Even when I do a digital dash, I make it emulate a regular gauge.

For $1600:
* if it throws (a) trouble code(s), it should provide the code(s) to the driver immediately upon request,
and include real-time data visualization and recording for diagnostic expediency, without needing a separate device or mechanic
*should provide 'historically inspired' DIC options (GMT400, GMT800, GMT900, GMTK2xx, GMTT1xx) with increased functionality whenever/wherever possible
basically, you ought to be getting a whole lotta info & abilities for $1600
(I'd prefer a Knight Rider-inspired digital display, 'cause I still think that KITT had more practical functionality than many 2026 vehicles.)

A scan tool in the vehicle would be killer.
I set up my DLC for key on power only and leave my OBDX Pro VX plugged in. The extra gauges and diagnostics ARE handy. But even for the cost of a dongle, a phone mount, phone charger, and a phone, it's still way cheaper than the dash.
