I recently bought a beautiful single owner 2002 Yukon. Immaculate condition, low miles, never been towed with (doesn't even have a hitch!) just overall great. However, the HVAC mode actuator failed. I confirmed by pulling the old one (pain in the ass), opening it, and seeing the cracked gear. Bought a replacement and lord almighty I cannot get this thing back in. A huge part of it is I can't see what I'm doing so I can't seem to line up the plastic door levers for the recirculated air and defrost setting. And I can't see because the duct that blows air into the driver's side floorboard.
Does anyone know how to get this thing out? It seems like I should just be able to pull down and out but there has to be a bolt I'm not seeing. I did pull out the equivalent vent on the passenger side that was bolted in thinking maybe that was the issue but no luck.

Also, does anyone know what this sensor is attached to the duct? I'm worried I was a little too rough on it while trying to get the duct out. It looks like it's part of the same wiring harness for the door actuator.

Thanks for any help in advance. This is so frustrating.
