I have a 8.1l 2002 Silverado 2500hd and I've been chasing the electrical problem for the past few days. I started my truck up after it sitting for about 6 months and i noticed it started miss firing and started having long cranks. I put a scanner on it and i get P0343 P0342 codes for the cam sensor/circuit. I replace the cam sensor and I still get the same codes and still miss firing. So I start checking the harness(no wires visibly broken or eaten). On the cam sensor plug pin A has 12v, pin B has good ground, and pin C is supposed to have 5v signal from the ecu but it has 0v. I check continuity of the Pin C wire and its good with 0ohms to 0.001ohms (from the cam sensor plug to ecu plug). I checked the ecu ground, battery ground, cabin ground, and engine ground, all the grounds are good. Then I replaced the ecu thinking that was the problem because at the same time my bullydog tuner stopped working it wasn't turning on from the obdII port. I replaced the ecu and im still getting the same issue so I cut the wire that goes to pin 73 on the blue plug on the ecu which is the cam sensor 5v signal and i was going to just replace that wire but decided to test the bare wire coming out the ecu plug and i was still getting 0v. So the wire wasnt the issue and I made sure that the ecu pins were making good contact with the pins on the plug. Im all out of ideas of what it could be. This is so frustrating cause the truck was working perfectly fine before it sat and also the florida heat just makes working on it difficult. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
