If you buy a filler delete like what I linked, you can drill holes in it for rocker switches for aux lighting or what not?
Agreed. Either a plate with switches or something stored in the hole. Not just sitting there empty.

Mine didn’t come with driving lights so that is where I put the switch. Made my own panel to cover that useless hole. These days you can order a 3D printed panel. They weren’t readily available back when I did mine.

Agreed. I have considered a headache rack, so if I did that I want off-road lights installed for sure and that would be a great place for the switch. Same goes for a brushgaurd bumber with added lights.

I agree, It looks like I should have options to do something with it for sure. I have actually been looking for some type of phone mount to fit in there but never found one. The switch idea is not a bad idea though.

Try the link that I provided above.
He has 3d printed plate parts to go on the right of the hvac controller. These pcs include the ability to put a phone mount.

That's where the traction control button is on mine.

Please provide the specifics of your truck. Are you willing to grab the part numbers off of it?

In 30yrs+ of stripping vehicles, I personally have only seen 1 truck with a Traction Control button & it was on a 99-02 model & the switch was directly to the left of the Passenger Airbag Switch.

remove cubby and you can fit more stuff in it
Find thing you want to stuff in it, then use something to keep it from falling in behind there, easy with flashiing or probably aa chunk of wood etc
What is everyone doing with this hole that doesn't have the automatic 4 wheel drive buttons?

Lots of useful stuff, thank you.
Some of that, I've never seen, some I didn't know existed.
