Four of the five GMT800's in my fleet have power door locks.

2006 Silverado, 2005 Tahoe, 2004 Avalanche and a 2002 Tahoe

The 2005 Tahoe and 2004 Avalanche do not have a key lock on the passenger side door. I wonder if anyone knows why? It does not seem year related as the '06 and the '02 both have passenger side door locks.

Picture of my new to me Avalanche, for the picture pips. Still a work in progress.

Only trucks that didn't have a fob retained the passenger door lock cylinder starting in 2004. Remote entry is different than power locks.

Thanks! That helps answer another question too. I tried to program a GM fob for the '06 and could not make it work. Now I also know why I didn't get a fob with the used truck purchase.

Same thing with my girl's 02 Trailblazer. Lock cylinder in passenger door and no fobs. If have interior power lovks, can install an aftermarket a fob module and wire to have key fobs. More involved kit for unlock tailgate too.

Not having fobs might mean someone before you lost or broke the fobs.
My Silverado didnt have fobs, other than the after market command start that i removed, but i got one from the wrecker yard and now i can live like the fancy people do..

There is an RPO code that tells you if the truck came with fob capability. I forget what that RPO is.

Most likely it doesn't have passenger door locks just to save a few bux in manufacturing. There is a whole thread discussing deleted items to save $$. EX: my truck not having an ignition key steering lock..

My 07 has a fob/electric locks, but no passenger door key lock. they figure why put in a key lock if you will mostly be using the fob or opening the drivers door and pressing the electric lock.

on another note, I had some fobs from a 2009 hhr that looked identical to the 07 W/T fob, but it would not function in the 07

i would also say if you don't have passenger door key locks, then you should have fobs...
