Hello all my 01 Yukon 5.3 4x4 is throwing a p0440 code after the fuel pump replacement it did not throw any codes before the pump was replaced, the cap is on tight any thoughts? thank you for any insight to this?

A code P0440 could mean one or more of the following has happened: The gas cap is not installed or working properly The purge solenoid has failed The canister is plugged and not working properly

Have you tried buying a new cap and seeing if it helped? They are pretty cheap and would be my first step.

A few things that come to mind are 1 the oring seal around module not sealing properly 2 maybe the valve on top of tank not reconnected or broke upon reassembly, may be a hose not properly seated. 3 being in the field I see alot of vent valves stuck open and have seen the actual plug on the module where the male pins where not seated ( weather pack) and actually leaked out of the plug.
