Hello all! My name is Jake, and I am from rural northern Ohio. My truck is an old 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 2wd standard cab long bed motivated by a tired 4.3L and 4L60E. This is my first truck, purchased for $601 when I was barely 16, and I have owned it for 3 years now. During this time I've made many memories with the old rig, and even though some have been less that enjoyable, overall I have liked owning the truck, and would consider owning another even though my family only owns Fords otherwise.
Being a broke college student, modifications are few and far between, and most of the work done on this truck is out of necessity. Despite living on a farm, most of the use this old truck sees is hauling my sorry hind end to college or work day in and day out.
Work on the truck includes:
Fuel pump,
(2) new injectors,
Brakes ,
Brake lines,
Plug wires,
Rotor and cap,
Fog lights ($30 from the local junkyard!)
Toolbox ($25 from farm auction, welded by a friend and wired by my kid brother),
Cb Radio
And soon to be an intake manifold gasket, I think?
Anyways, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to join a forum full of people willing to lend their ears and offer advice.
I look forward to benefitting from the wisdom here, and offering what insight I have.
Thank you!
It doesn't like winter!
Little mud on the tires, eh?
Deer damage, missed the fog lights though!
Fog light install
At home on the farm: my father's trucks on the left('67 F250 4x4 and '92 F450) and my brother's truck on the right ('80 F350).
Cruising the back roads, a favorite past time.
