Does anyone know what the correct seal is for the sunroof on the '99-2003 cars is or if it is at all available? I have my sunroof out while I'm doing my headliner and was thinking about replacing the seal since it will be easy(ier) to do with it off the truck. I found this part on GM Parts Direct part #22815954,(https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-sunroof-window-seal-22815954) which it says replaces part #'s 15837594, 22891488. I called my local Chevy dealer and they said that was the correct part and that it superseded the original part # for my car and that it was available but had to be ordered. They immediately called back and corrected themselves saying that the superseded part # was NLA discontinued. I also found the part on amazon under the same part number but saw a couple of reviews claiming it did not fit their '04, '05 trucks.

I think for now I am going to leave the seal be, as it isn't yet giving me any issues, but if it is discontinued I'd like to get a fresh one or two in stock at the house for when it does need to be replaced. Does anyone have experience with this?

No, but my 06 suburban sunroof leaks, and it's annoying...

I've actually just thought about sealing it up. I also have to do my headliner, on all my GMT800s actually.

I'll make a post with some pictures and my observations from doing my headliner when it's finished, just waiting on the new fabric/adhesive to come in then reinstallation.

@stutaeng, even a leaking, not cracked or torn, existing seal, can be brought back to life with a thorough cleaning and the correct silicone lube. IIRC, GM still sells the OE lube, found in owner's manual.

Yeah the sunroof is meant to allow for some leakage there is a drain hose for it, and mine isn't leaking yet to my knowledge I was just hoping to do it preventatively, guess that's not much of an option.

I park my Tahoe under a canopy. I also, once a year, clear out the drain and clean and lube. I wish I did not have the sun roof but since I do, I am gonna do all I can to not have leaks.

If I have to, there will be a seal of some sort installed on the top. The looks, I don't care about.

2003 and up seem to use a different sunroof from what I can tell.

Also, can you show a pictrure of your sunroof closed from the top ? because without pictures youre quite literally giving us nothing to go off of. if its like what iM thinking it may be. ill link a post of mine from high school related to my Aurora's sunroof and the seal for that. But it may be different type
