Yikes?! I wonder where they are sourcing them from?

4L80e are usually $800+ for "runners" around here. Sometimes you'll find them for $500 lusted as cores.

I bought one a few months agfor $250 but the guy was a truck part out guy and he said he used to work at a transmission shop and that the unit I was buying had a worn pump because it had zero oil pressure. I haven't torn it apart yet, tho.

I don't trust any of this, I saw a supercharged 6.2 w/6L90E for $361 from Austria. Supposedly the transmission like the 4L60E above are remans, they could be stealing the plans from GM and doing all the work. I don't know though. Someone should buy one and see. haha

Have Nick do a tear down.

Guat?! That's absolutely NUTS!!!

I sold a refreshed 4L80e to kid in Washington State a few months ago. I think shipping alone was like $450 or something like that....

I dropped it off at the FedEx distribution warehouse on a plywood crate I built for it myself.

No way in Hell are those guys over there getting these units that cheap, and including shipping costs!

I think it is important to be aware of these scams, one doesn't know the quality of a reman transmission they are getting.
Those guys ARE really good at copying stuff...I'm now wondering if they dissected a transmission and copied it? Or copied replacement parts? I can see that happening maybe?

Regardless, I wouldn't trust it.

They make a lot of this stuff, their parts are on rock auto.

Yeah. I guess if they are making all the parts, it is only one step further to assembling whole units. That is how Dodge started, they were making parts for model T's and then started making their own cars.
