2004 Silverado K2500HD-SOLD

This is just a notice that my truck will "likely" be for sale within the next 2-3 months. Not because of mechanical problems but because my girl is just not comfortable in it and she wants what she call, "a beater", because she misses her 1990 Big Brown Beast GMT400. The 2004 is documented here in the forum and just like when I bought it last Dec. or Jan., extremely low mileage of 118k miles on the 6.0 and does have brand new tires on it. We have put less than 500 miles on it and while we bought it after selling her 1990, it is just more truck than we need and we will not be getting a travel trailer. It also has a trailer brake mounted under the dash as well.

I've got a REAL beater OBS K3500 CCLB srw beater I'm trying to sell right now. It doesn't run (or have any AC). I'm getting any bites tho. SMH.

That's a very nice truck you have there. How much are you going to be asking for it? I wiii had the money TBH.

I will be listing it for $20k Or Best Offer. I have done a new cluster to it when the oil pressure gauge acted up and that cluster has a lifetime warranty.

I have some Genuine GM parts that will be supplied with it. Has seepage at the transmission and oil cooler lines and I have GM new parts for that. Seepage at back of hydro-boost and have a new Bosch unit for that. Bosch supplies those boosters to GM. The brake pedal pivot bushing has slight slop, but no rattle, and have the new GM bushing. New brake/stop light switch to replace when do the bushing work. New GM transmission service kit and I was going to replace the solenoids while in the pan area. I think a couple more parts and will post later when I check my parts supply.

Everything works but if anyone knows me from the Tahoe/Yukon Forum, they saw what I did to my 2005 Tahoe Z71 and know I do not wait for parts to go bad. I replace long before that.

I am purposely posting here first, to allow a member here to have a chance at it. I am at Tahoe/Yukon Forum and could post there and am at Silverado/Sierra Forum too.

This is a fantastic well taken care of truck that belonged to the father of my shop owner friend. This truck is a workhorse and just more truck than we need. I can afford to sit on it. I will get what it is worth, especially with the new parts that go with it for free.

The locking/sliding bed cover is in great shape and works easily as it should. The tailgate locks as well.

Absolutely no rust on this truck. I put new lights at the front. The rear lights were perfect.

Found a detailed list of the transmission components that I have for the truck. Please bear in mind that these transmission components are not to fix a current problem. After discussion with a known GM 4L80E and 4L60E transmission specialist, @NickTransmissions out of Las Vegas, he said that typically by 150k to 175k miles, the transmission could develop concerns and changing these transmission components can help delay those concerns for much longer.

I have a new GM transmission filter and pan gasket, even though the current pan gasket is reusable. The components that I speak of are as follows:

Torque converter pulse width modulation solenoid connector

Pressure switch manifold

Two different shift solenoids: 24230289 and 24230288

Torque converter pulse width modulation solenoid-PWM

Transmission-Automatic wiring harness/connector

Pressure control solenoid-EPC

Pressure control solenoid filter

Again, all these parts go with the truck when sold. There is absolutely no current problems. The parts/components are strictly for peace of mind down the road.

Will not be a single cab. 1500, yes. Love to find a manual transmission. Short bed is fine.

I absolutely love this truck but is just more than we need. It is so nice, she is always afraid to bump or scratch it. She wants a bit of a beater truck.

My 2005 Tahoe and her 2002 TrailBlazer are the nice trucks/vehicles.

Someone will buy the truck and get a hell of a rig.

Why not just a 2004+ 1500 crew cab? I'm personally not a fan of the tiny bed 5.5', because I'm always hauling stuff and junk. But they are nice.

Do you need 4x4 in Oregon? I'm guessing yes? Otherwise, there's a lot of those in 2wd variants down here.

Edit: or extended cab for that matter.

1500. The partner of my shop owner friend has a used truck lot and has a 1500HD that is ext cab short bed and a bit of a beater. Is white. Is 4x4.

Like I said though. True 1/2 ton ext cab and prefer manual trans. Plus, a bit of a beater.

Can get by without 4x4, unless you go up to the mountains. We are in the valley and winter is mostly rain.

Someone at Silverado/Sierra Forum asked about the Blue Book Value. Here is my answer:

Got no idea. The RPO sticker is there and you can ask me anything about the truck. Has GT5 4:10 gears. Front and rear a/c. All leather. Auto temp control. Low mileage. Literally new tires. I would say, just one step below "Like New". Plus, it depends on how bad someone needs or wants a truck like this and I listed it as Or Best Offer. I am hiding nothing and supplying new quality parts/components. I have all the paperwork for the parts and the needed fluids. Yes, I forgot to say that. The fluids that were going to be used, will also be supplied.

May have a deal tomorrow or the next day. Involves trading for a 75k mile 1996 Toyota Tacoma, rwd, ext cab, bed liner, no wrecks or rust, auto and 2.4 4 cylinder with cold a/c. My landlord's son has it and he has been wanting a 3/4 ton. The Tacoma has been in the family as grandad's Tacoma and when he passed the son got it. Very well taken care of and I have done work on it, over the last 2 years. If my girl likes driving it, we will work a deal.

Well, the Tacoma and money trade for the 2004 K2500HD is not gonna happen after all. The Tacoma owner cannot come up with the money difference.

It is officially now for sale and not "likely" for sale.

I take it back. The Tacoma trade did take place. Signing titles tomorrow. Both road tests have taken place. Actual mileage, for the Tacoma, is 79,613.

I went with the new owner on his road test today. I did tell him he was under no obligation at all, just because he was so positive about buying the truck, before the road test. He just looked at me and said, "I have had my eye on this truck since the day you brought it home". I had to tell him about the hydro-boost and why the brakes felt different.
