The big day is in 2 days now. I went out to my garage and using my RA parts tickets, I double checked all parts and fluids. All the transmission and engine oil coolant lines, transmission filter and pan gasket and all solenoids and switches are there. The brake pedal pivot bushing and new brake light switch. New hydro-boost assembly. New steering column lower bearing assembly. All needed fluids--transmission fluid, p/s fluid and engine oil and new oil filter. Gonna do an oil change while in there. Gonna be using Valvoline Restore & Protect synthetic oil, 5w-30 and A/C Delco filter.

I believe our plans are to make the truck my daily driver. I am retired and don't daily drive that often. Keep the 2005 Tahoe Z71 for my girl and sell her 2002 TrailBlazer with only 76k miles on it.

really like those, usually they are beat to hell, yours is in great shape.
that straight six will run forever, pretty good mpg.
i vote you keep it for backup, :)

they sell fast up here, kids buy them, for offroaders, add a lift kit, good tires, cause they have 4Low.

i assume they're easy to work on too.

Has been a really good vehicle. Had it now for about 2 years and only put about 3k miles on it, from the odometer pic you see. I was warned that the water pumps did not last. It was leaking when we looked at it. I worked a new water pump price in to the deal we made. I put a new water pump and fan clutch on it and a thermostat. New fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. Had a leak at the regulator. Fuel pressure tested and is good. She was gonna drive up to her property in Wa. for a weekend and the CEL came on about 25 miles out of town. Was running fine. I told her to turn around and she ended up taking her recently sold 1990 K2500 Light Duty 3/4 ton 4x4 ext cab truck instead. Had the code problem fixed that afternoon. VVT solenoid. A/C blows cold and all of the drive selections work as should. Nothing but full Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes with WIX filters. When we got it I did all fluids: Both diffs, transfer case, transmission and filter, coolant done with water pump, power steering fluid and brake fluid. Never been wrecked. No rust. Has been in PNW it's whole life. Almost forgot: New AC Delco spark plugs and a new ignition switch that showed intermittent signs of a well known switch problems of turn key and no crank. If cycled again, would start. I put the updated Genuine GM switch in it. There are videos at you tube for the plugs and switch replacements.

I like driving it and am comfortable in it. That 4.2 straight 6 is a great power plant with the 4L60E transmission. I even replaced the rear cargo roll out curtain with the correct color replacement. I have to see which vehicle she wants to drive daily. The TrailBlazer or the 2005 Tahoe Z71.

I will say this: It is a very base LS model. So base that it came from factory without a key fob capability. Can be added but we never did.

Again, almost forgot, about 1.5 years ago: New Interstate AGM battery.

My shop owner friend called last night and the work scheduled for today has been delayed till next Wednesday.

Has an F350 on the lift waiting on delayed parts for a transmission swap he is doing on it. He sent me pics too, of his lot. 14 trucks waiting for work. He has a helper but he was sick for 2 days, flu going around in the area, and it has all ballooned up and back logged. The only PITA to me is that I had all parts loaded in truck and then unloaded last night. The truck drives fine, so I am not disabled. He is playing catch up rest of week and has only 2 vehicles scheduled for drop on Monday and has cut off any more drop offs for rest of next week. His expertise help is worth waiting for and I am not without a vehicle at all.

Sooooo, again, when it all happens, I will post here with pics.

Plenty of work is a great problem to have, until quality or speed of service suffers enough that it harms your reputation. Hope his helper gets well soon and they can get caught up.

If he's got that much in line it sounds like a lot of folks trust and depend on him.

The helper is back and they both have been working overtime. The friend, shop owner, is the best I have come across in my years in the industry and he is a nut about quality.

That is why, if I am not doing the work, he is my choice and I can wait on him. Helper sick and parts delivery delay, is what caused the problem. The truck is not my daily driver.
