It will just be my daily driver. On my way home from Oregon, I will be house/dog/cat sitting for our son and daughter in law. I’ve already found a set of shocks and bump stops for it, had them delivered to sons house, and will replace them while I’m there, gives me something to do for a half day or so!

Yep, that's what rust free GMT800's look like in Oregon. Have fun and please post more pics, all around, interior and engine bay. Even underneath to show off that frame.

Looks like this:

All the way left and pointed at the "0", is off. Next up is headlights and running lights. Next up is just park lights/running lights.

The dome override is to either allow the dome light to come on when you open the door or keep it turned off when you open the door, IIRC.....Secret Agent stuff.

I do not see an "auto" setting, so I do not think they will come on when gets dark enough because it likely has no daylight sensor.

Is your switch just like the pic I supplied? I asked for a pic of yours. Well.......

Same switch, but that dome override has an effect on the headlights, whether or not intentional I don’t know yet
Well, then until you get the owner's manual, just make sure you got lights at night and that the "0" turns them off thru the day. I have a different switch. My girl would say that the problem here is that the truck is "RED".

It has/had something to do with the dome override. If you push it 4 times in rapid succession, there will be a ding and that, I believe, turns off the automatic portion of the headlights. We appear to be functioning okay now
That's normal on this year truck ( I thought it was 3 times though?). That's the 99-02 generation.

On the 03+, they added a setting on the left (momentary switch, which you turn counterclockwise) on the knob, that disables the daylight running lamps (DRL).

Truck looks great BTW!
