The throttle response in my 2000 z71 5.3 truck isn't what it should seem to be. Is there a fuel filter on these trucks or what should I look at servicing?

Yes there is, driver side inside the frame, middle of the truck

Also look at the tightness of the throttle cable

Does your truck have a throttle body spacer? That will help

Should be taut, might take you and a friend to check, have buddy step on the gas and see how far it moves when he has pedal to the floor and check by hand at the throttle body and see if it can open wider when buddy has foot to the floor

Will do. What about injectors for these trucks?

I think they changed it in 03, the 99-02 is on the drivers side inside the frame, I think 03-06 have a filter attached to the pump and it can't be changed, I need to confirm tho

A buddy of mine has a tuner that also scans should I attempt to tune anything?

No, handheld is ok but you'd get better results from a black bear or similar tune where you send your computer away and they tune it, also with some handhelds it basically replaces your stock time with a new one and then if the tuner is removed your stuck in the last mode it was in until you put it back on and change it

Handheld is also fixed, like has to be in one of the modes not custom, where the black bear they will do whatever you want pretty much
