I am also on a couple other Forums that Shaggy has. The Tahoe/Yukon Forum and the GMT400 Forum. I have a 2005 Tahoe Z71 and my girl owns a 1990 K2500 ext cab pickup GMT400.

We have now added a creampuff 2004 Silverado K2500HD with the specs I list in my signature.
I am very active in the other two forums and want to be active here, too. I hope to contribute here and will be asking a few questions. Again, as the signature says, I am a retired ASE Master Tech and also stay busy working on vehicles at home. I am far from knowing it all but I will try my best to research. I am retired and a Vietnam Vet.

I did not know it till I did the research but I have electric cooling fans on my 2005 Tahoe Z71. Electric fans are not available or listed as stock for the 2004 or 2005 K2500HD trucks.

I’m pretty sure all HD trucks had mechanical fans. I prefer mechanical fans over electric.
With the trucks, I prefer the fan clutch design too. I gotta say, the electric fans on my Tahoe work great but with my old school mentality from being in the shops for 40+ years, I miss the fan clutch design. Way less and easier to diagnose if cooling problems.
