Thanks for the help guys. Turns out you all turned out to be right about the rear end. Seems like that’s what’s going out and making the whirring/whining noise I’ve been hearing. Checked the carrier bearing and it’s pretty firm. As far as my acceleration issue I’ve been too busy with work to do a proper tune up and change the fluids/filters yet but I would assume the rear end has something to do with it.
