Only the 96-98 GMT 400s had keyless entry in the power lock trucks, some 95s were able to aswell, so your 97 you got can have a fob aswell if you look up how to do it on gmt400.com

Hmmm that's interesting. Out of the 5 years I had the truck. The power locks didn't even work for 4 of those years
