My new torque converter came in the mail today. Since I’ve taken on the task of rebuilding my 4L60e, I thought I’d go with an upgraded torque converter as I’m rebuilding my trans with a core outside of the truck while I putt around town in 1st and 2nd gear XD

I went with a Circle D Specialties 2800-3000 Stall Converter(Part number: CDS-01-07-09-1G). I made sure to call Circle D tech support to ensure is was a “plug and play” style. Take th old one out when taking the trans out, put the new one in with plenty of fluid when you put the trans back in. The tech also told me it should drive 99% like stock under lower RPM driving like in the city. I’m gonna go ahead and upgrade the trans cooler with a Mishimoto 40K with the lifetime warranty. Unlike my $1200 order from JEGS, I actually received lots of promotional merchandise from my Circle D order. I’m really liking the 16 oz coozy.

Very cool!

How is the transmission rebuild going? Did you manage to get that stripped bolt out?
I haven’t touched it much as I work 72 hours a week from Monday to Friday. It’s almost purely a weekend job. Sucks to suck, but that’s how I’m able to pay for the rebuild. I have drilled part of it out, but not deep enough to get the extractor to bite it. Will definitely post when it’s out though XD

Circle D makes really nice stuff. We've got a couple floating around in various transmissions around the shop.
