Well I noticed Sunday she cranked over good but seemed slower, after work today I noticed it was way slower than Sunday. Did a load test on both batteries and these are the results… I don’t care what anyone says, I’ll trust the analog testers long before a digital one. View attachment 3558

How old are the batteries? Check running charging system readings and charging under a load, at idle and at higher rpm's.

Then, shut the engine off, get voltage readings and then turn the headlights on and leave them on and then........take a walk around the block and visit with neighbors and then circle back and have 2 beers and then get voltage readings again. Post all test results here with times and numerical readings. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I meant a lot of what I just said....you decide what that is.

Batteries are both from 2019, system charges at 14.5 at 2k rpm. I’m getting a replacement for the “dead” one today and next week I’ll get the other. Wife’s about to start tech school so I gotta make this seem not so “expensive” to make her feel better lol

Well this isn’t the update I expected to give. But I sold Starlight last night. I made money on the deal but I also wasn’t expecting it to sell (posted for higher than I wanted) so fast either. Now I’m looking for something newer that won’t cost me so much while my wife is in school. I regret selling it but I’m looking to go back to a K2XX truck

Oh wow! I hated selling our 97 k2500 Suburban, but the time had come. Kinda tried talking the guy out of buying it but he did anyways.

I’ll still be around, I’ll probably keep on posting with whatever truck I buy. Right now it’s a tossup between a 2016 LT and a 2014 LTZ. Both similarly priced units and both have similar mileage. I like the LTZ for the creature comforts like heated and cooled seats but it’s not a deal breaker

I’m no stranger to it, beat preventative maintenance is on time oil changes for it. Anyways, here’s the new family hauler. I ended up buying the 2016, the dealership with the 2014 could not give me a straight answer on whether or not it sold. And when I spoke to the sales manager he asked me “what were you looking to accomplish by coming here?”. Talk about enough to make blood boil… why else would I come to a place that SELLS CARS AND TRUCKS?? Anyway, I paid 12,400 for the 2016. Super clean truck, new trans last year and brand new tires (still had the nipples on them). I used the fact it had a torn CV shaft boot to talk them down from 13,000. Put over 100mi on it today with no issues. IMG_1760.jpeg

The wheels definitely gotta go, I’m wanting to find either some black stock wheels or something similar.

No pictures unfortunately but over the last three days the passenger front has been squeaking on my 2016. Jacked it up yesterday and found the upper ball joint not tight at all! When I shook it hard enough the ball separated from the socket. Got to looking more and found the rest of the related components were shot too! Upper control arms, CV axles on both sides, tie rods, sway bar links missing. Needless to say I was pissed I didn’t notice any play in the steering or anything else. Made a quick trip to oreillys to get the parts and I will say personally this was one of the easiest front ends to rebuild I’ve ever done. Definitely easier and faster than my GMT800s. Start to finish was just under 2 1/2 hours
