I was unable to find any threads on this matter here, so if I missed them, please post the link! But anyways, here are the mods i've found so far for the Vortec 8.1L gasguzzler engine
For those rich folk out there, don't forget about the Raylar Engineering stuff. I didn't include that on the above list because i've heard some not-so-good things about them. They sell ridiculously expensive stroker kits, intake manifolds, cams, heads, etc.. for this engine.
Intake Manifold (Dart, only works for carb'd applications)
Headers (Gibson, JBA, Hedman, Stage 8, Percy's)
Cylinder Heads (Edelbrock & Dart)
Camshaft (Comp Cams)
Rocker Arms (Scorpion, Crower, Jesel, Summit Racing)
Intakes & Exhaust will depend on your application, but they are available
Ignition stuff will again depend on your application. It has been my experience that NGK spark plugs, coupled with MSD spark plug wires, run very well on this engine. Do note that this is a distributor-less engine in stock form, but you can find distributors for it if you want to move away from computer-controlled.
High-Volume Water Pump (EMP/Stewart)
High-Volume Oil Pump (CVR)
