Update, needs a battery, needs to remove some items, and he might have to replace the title. Going to happen next week. I forgot to get pictures, but its a nice GMC Yukon SLT and everything works. I will post pictures when we finally get it. I think I will try and give him a couple grand if he will take it.

Sometimes those old timer trucks are the best.

I'm flying out not this next week but the week after to pick up a '94 C1500 ext cab (yes another one, this will be for my wife) that looks like a certified old timer truck. Deal already done, paid for, just gotta go get it.

First owner had it from new until 2018, then second owner had it til just now, traded in on a new Ford (!!!) at the dealership. Really, really clean truck, 108K miles.

Good luck with the Yukon! pics!!

Nice! What year Yukon?

I've got a 2006 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0 LS. Daily driver I bought back in 2020 and REALLY like it. In fact, the following year I bought a similar Suburban, 2004 model and 4x4. That's the "project Suburban" I'm working on slowly because that one needs some cosmetic work. Driver train is solid though.

I am a little confused. Yukon XL SLT or just an XL? Have the 6.0 in it? What year is it, or did I miss that? I see the 2001 in your signature.

What other upgrades, preventative maintenance, etc. is a good idea for these trucks? I know the GMT400's really well but only know a little about GMT800's.

There's honestly not much that goes wrong with these vehicles actually... probably why this forum kinda died, LOL.

Maybe the heater core quick connects near the firewall are something I would replace as preventative maintenance. Dorman actually started making some metal ones. I just installed them on my 04 project suburban last weekend.

As far as mods? How much do you want to spend? TONS of mods. 2019 GIANT front brake upgrade from the Silverado. AXN rear axle swap. Hydroboost upgrade. 4L80e swap. Transfer case swap (HD one from a truck or maybe a manual shift one). On the engine side: tunes, stroker, cam, headers, supercharger, turbos...way too many options on that alone. LS engines are probably one of the most reliable engines ever produced. Coilovers conversion. Cognito front suspension upgrades...

Maybe you should tell us what you intend to do with the truck? I would just keep with your plan and do maintenance. Also, check out TYF. Tons of information there on GMT800 SUVs.

Sorry, I should have explained more, now I am that guy! It will be my wife's daily driver / grocery getter. No towing or working so any improvements will be for comfort, reliability, safety, and to please the eye (our eyes, I don't care what other people think). I will do all the maintenance, mods, improvements and I am not looking to spend a ton of money on it since our 97 k2500 suburban really needs forced induction. :)

Ah, gotcha. Just do maintenance then. I had a former coworker (we're still good friends) that had a 02 or 03 Tahoe with the 4.8. he had like 350k on the original drivetrain when he gave it his DIL. They eventually divorced and the girl kept the Tahoe, by then it was 400k+ miles! I think the only thing that had been replaced was front wheel hubs. Friggin' AMAZING!

250k+ is pretty easy to get to on these trucks. I even see the SUVs around here being used as work trucks, towing landscaping trailers and construction trailers!

I didn't realize this earlier, but what is story with that grill? Looks kinda tacky to me, but maybe it's something related to the cold weather, sub-zero stuff?

Ok, I was going to ask what year, but looks like a 2002. 99-02 (00-02 in SUV) in my opinion are even more reliable because there's less electronics, mostly interior stuff. The 03+ ARE more fancy however.

That is a cold front, we get -50 and -60 at times and a cold front really helps. It is a 2001.
