Been over on the 400 site for around 10yrs now, same username as here. Got a mashup thread over at GMT400.com but I figured I’d do the same here. Starlight is my LLYs name. She’s an 05 Oklahoma Truck with ZERO rust, buncha goodies, and a few to come

Welcome to the forum from Oregon and from GMT400, too.

I had an 03 2500 Duramax. Great truck.

We are better than FB, I am sure. I have not seen the groups on FB. I am barred from there. They do not like my politics. Effffffffffffffff em.

@Thatlowchevy2, when you got the bunch of emails, were they all the same at the very same time? Over a period of a day or two? Did they all say the same thing? Were they in regular email or junk/spam email? Was there a chance the confirmation came pretty quick but went to junk/spam email? Asking for the owner who is checking for "why the delay". Thanks.

They all came at once, I attempted login on Wednesday and that’s when I had to reset my password again. After that I got probably 4-5 at the same time.

A few more details on the LLY, it had 220k on it when I got it, DSP5 switch on the dash, boost and pyrometer gauges, 45% injectors, studded with new heads and gaskets, LBZ mouthpiece and 3” charge pipes, drop in lift pump, new transfer case, rear end and a bunch of other stuff I’m probably forgetting. Invoices totaling more than what I paid for the 2014 and it’s been a great truck for us, my wife misses the 2014 for the creatures comforts but I wanted to go back to what I knew. Here’s how it currently sits without the ranchhand and on some 20x10 Fuel Mavericks.

I’ve done a bunch of little mods like aftermarket stereo and tailgate backup camera. More recently I’ve been gathering OEM stuff to add cab lights, dealer wanted $200+ to order the harness but I found it in LKQ from a 3500HD that been wrecked. Gonna order up some OEM style lenses and get OEM gaskets. I’ve had a bunch of these Duramax trucks and only one other 2500HD that had factory cab lights. So it’s on my bucket list lol. Here it is next to my Tahoe that’s a project/flipper. Tahoe isn’t anything special but the amount of work I’ve put into it is incredible

Well my search for OEM cab lights and bases has come to an end. I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t an arm and a leg so I opted to order some OEM looking lenses and bases. So we’ll see how they look and feel once they arrive

Let us know which ones you bought and what you think of them. I bought some aftermarket ones for my 04 project suburban 2500, but haven't installed them yet. What does the OEM harness look like?

I need to redo my headliner, so will probably install them then.

My buddy has an 06 CCSB 2500HD Duramax and he told me there doesn't seem to be a rpo code for cab lights. Some trucks got them and others didn't. But I'm pretty sure all duallies got them.

Yes all duallys got them as well as the quadrasteer trucks. Some 3/4tons did as my dad had an 03 he bought new that had them. I’ll have to snap a picture of the harness. Very simple two wire setup with a green plug

Well it took longer than I anticipated for them to come in. But here they are, these are the middle of the road lights I’ve found. Seeing them in person now I assume they’re exactly the same as the cheaper options I’ve found. So I could’ve probably cheaped out and been alright. Now to find some rivnuts and screws for them. The kit comes with it but I don’t want to go back in there after it’s done. The amber LEDS they send will be replaced with some amber Auxito LEDs I have. Of course I’ll also need the time to do the install as well. Plenty of projects lined up here but I’m slowly chipping away at them IMG_0786.jpeg

Well I got the cab lights mounted. I still have to run the factory harness in the cab. Found some 10-32 rivnuts and 2” screws for the install. Going off my previous measurements of the 3500 at LKQ I was able to get them close if not spot on to where OEM has them. Pics as follows.

Here they are fully mounted and pigtails ran through 3/8” holes with appropriate grommets to prevent harness chafing. I did not use silicone on them. It’s raining tonight so time will tell if they leak or not but I’m very confident they won’t

Beautiful work.

I no longer drink but have to guess. Is the bottle, on the counter in the background of the 1st pic, a 1/2 gallon bottle of Fireball?
