Little update…
Trans is at the shop getting built, a lot of cool parts including the sonnax smart-tech drum
3000-3200 stall is being build also. Hopefully have it by today.
short block is assembled. Nothing fancy just a RHP cam, meilings oil pump, head studs etc. This is just to get it running and to enjoy. I have another engine in the works.
Might possibly take my heads to get milled and ported.
Hope to have it driveable by the end of October.

4k trans cooler with all new lines and AN fittings.

Race star wheels, 17s in the front and 275 Drag radials in the rear.

I’m want it to be as reliable as possible and the engine bay to be very stock looking but with little hints of performance.
Most people would have done the efan swap but not me, instead I bought new upper and lower fan shrouds for a v8 truck
I’m keeping the stock air box but running a smooth black intake tube from a cold air kit.

Only color I added was candy purple for the valve covers and valley cover to match the traction bars. Might do a purple catch can also.

Interesting. Looks like you have the black box ECU. I thought that was 99 only, but maybe it was 99-00?
I think 01 they went to the 0411 ECU on the V6?

Not sure when they went to the 0411, luckily I have one though. I will throw the black box on the shelf since I already have it unlocked and spent the credits. Never know when I might need it for another project.

Purple is a cool color, what is in your engine build?
It’s just a marking from GM.
This 5.3 is just a cam only. I’m going to build a 6.0 in the near future.
I will add alittle more to that earlier post. It is a cam only 5.3 since I knew anything more would hurt the 4l60. So I decided to go way overboard on the 4l60 build to handle whatever came in the future. Turbo, procharger etc.
