Added trans temp to cluster and replaced bulbs with LEDs

I got a trailblazer cluster on eBay to salvage the stepper and needle out of. It was way cheaper than a GMT800 cluster. I didn't realize the needle was red instead of orange. But the one needle down in the corner being a slightly different color doesn't bother me. I got the face from GM Cluster Repair (I think that's the name) on eBay. Pretty happy with the quality.

You could definitely do it yourself. The work isn't hard, and the soldering is pretty basic. The hardest part was actually disassembling the cluster and then desoldering the stepper from the salvaged cluster. I would HIGHLY recommend a desoldering gun if you want to salvage parts. Otherwise just buy steppers on eBay.

Jacked up my AC control sliders and I've had so much other nonsense going on, I haven't gotten around to doing the LEDs in that yet. Soon...

thank you.. i need to get a solder anyways so this might be my excuse. i also don't know how I'm ever going to outsource this job, when the Burb is the main daily for the wife and kids. so might HAVE to do it on my own on a weekend.

i don't have FB, can you send a screenshot?
Wouldn't that require the odometer to be re-programmed? and is that one rebuilt with all new stepper motors / lights?

Just some dude in Crowley. Don't think it's rebuilt, but it's $110. That's about what I paid for a new face and steppers anyway. Facebook is worth having just for the marketplace.

i do use my wife's account occasionally to wheel and deal lol
last question - i read somewhere that the harness already carries trans temp data from the trans sensor - so it's pretty easy plug and play correct? like I don't need to run a separate harness and plug in a sensor on the trans?

Correct. And I've read that your cluster is already programmed, it just lacks the stepper. If you added a stepper and a face, you wouldn't need to do anything else.
