07 2500hd Security Start Die

On my 07 2500HD there is a security light which will pop on and allow the truck to start and die immediately and or just crank. I just had put a motor in and it even did it before I did so. I replaced the crank and ignition fuse and it's been working but I was wondering if anyone had ideas to what was causing it? Also planning on doing the bypass with the 8 ohm resistor to see if that will fix it. Anyones thoughts?

Yep, sounds like VATS was triggered.

It was doing before the engine replacement? Did you buy it like that? Did it ever run right before then? Did you replace the engine ECU at some point?

You can send your ECU to on-line places to get the VIN matched or the VATS deleted. Most give simply gets VATS deleted. If you replaced the ECU, you should tell that to the person doing the reflash, to get other things corrected, such as tire size, axle ratio, engine displacement, transmission, etc.

It did it before I haven't the truck for more than a couple months and I didn't replace the ECU and its runs perfect it's just the start up is the only issue.

So it only does it intermittently where it will die immediately and the security light comes on? It fires and runs well other times?

1st I'd try a relearn. On mine, security light is always on because the BCM is saying the system isn't working. Someone before me put another key cylinder in. I know it's a common issue.

That is VATS doing that, a lot of people have that problem. If you know any tuners they can toggle it out in the computer.

Dealer can do it as well. The system was notorious for going bad.
