Curious, did you give it a turn either direction and at various points in that motion, give it a shove side to side? That's what it took for me to notice the wear on the 7.4 I put in the HD.

Seems odd a rotor could look that bad with so few miles. There's a root cause that should be a flashing red sign...once you find it.

No side to side movement, just a little advance movement.

I really think cheap china junk was to blame. The metal tab on the rotor broke and was MIA. That would explain why it would idle fine but at load and high rpm the ignition would cut out. I’m sure the distributor is worn but it “good enough” right now.

I can't believe that for some reason, I focused on the screws condition and did not see the cap button tab missing. Lot to be said for all that carbon firing off in there.

That looks really nice!
Thanks. That radio was in the truck when I bought it and sounded horrible so I removed it and replaced it with a factory unit. When I pulled it out I found they did a very poor install and a lot of the wires was loose. I redid the harness as you can see in the above posts.

My wife bought me a loaded kicker sub/box for v-day, I paired it up with a small kicker amp that I already had.

The truck already has aftermarket speakers in the doors but unsure what they are. So far I’m very pleased, with it. It get loud and the bass is very balanced. It definitely doesn’t tickle your nose hair like my wife’s truck but it’s perfect for me.

I’m going to build a flat shelf behind the seat so the box sits level and to mount the amp to it and be able to hide the wiring. It will also serve as a flat spot to mount my nitrous bottle to when that time comes.

Ahhhhh, to be young again and want the nose hairs to tickle. At my age they "trickle". Keep Kleenex handy.

More pieces to the puzzle…

275-60-15 for the rear, they will go on the 15x10s

The fronts are 17x7, they showed up today also.

I have to pull the axles to remove the backing plates in order to run the gmt400 disk brakes and caliper. Snowball effect, should I go ahead and put gears and posi unit in the rear end. Right now it’s a 3.42 rear gear open diff, I’m goin to put 4.10 gears and Eaton style posi unit.

You already bought the new differential and gear set? If so, I would say, of course!

If you haven't then it's a budget question. But doing it now, you avoid doing of the work twice, right?

4.10 gears and Eaton posi are on the way from quick performance. Hopefully they make it before Sunday. I would like to get them installed Sunday and get my OBS brakes installed so I can test fit the 15x10s and 275s

Installed the posi and 4.10 gears yesterday. Turned out good. Also installed the gmt400 disc brakes on the rear to be able to run a 15in wheel.

I put a few miles on it yesterday, the difference is night and day.

Nice, that is a sweet looking truck! I bet that leaves a stop light great now.
