I pulled the distributor to check the gear and it was pretty worn out. Looks to be the factory unit since it’s plastic.

So I went ahead and bought a new distributor. Truck runs real well

The old one is what is called, "Close enough timing".

Yep, that's beat up for sure. I love my newer GMT800 with NO distributor.

Same here. I REALLY like ls engines with a carb. No stupid distributor but the awesomeness of a carburetor.

How is an LS setup with a carb? My nephew swapped an all-out forged LQ4 engine for nitrous on his C1500 1990. I know he runs a carburetor, but never have asked him or seen the setup...so IDK.

The only carburetors are on my lawnmower and weed eater engines...

How is an LS setup with a carb? My nephew swapped an all-out forged LQ4 engine for nitrous on his C1500 1990. I know he runs a carburetor, but never have asked him or seen the setup...so IDK.

The only carburetors are on my lawnmower and weed eater engines...

They are awesome. A friend of mine has a big cubic inch carb’d LS with a 1250 dominator.

The throttle response is insane on his engine. Its a 415 with 12.75-1cr

I used to replace the factory setups with a MSD distributor, coil, and 6AL box; seemed pretty durable though that was 20 years ago.

The msd pro billet distributor and 6al box has been my go to also for many years.

Amazon, search 880 led bulb. You can also get new housings for less than $30 if yours are messed up.

Got the AN fittings and fuel line for the V8 swap. I also went ahead and got an E85 340lph fuel pump. I didn’t want to cut my basket for a 450 and didn’t like the fact that the hellcat pump didn’t have a check valve.
