What happened to the covers for the full float axle?
I lost one due to the the threaded parts being stripped out over the years. the covers are original to the Yukon (395k miles). and to keep it even, I just pulled the other one off and made sure the fronts stayed tight. hard to find replacements. many look the same but dimensionally are different and do not fit the h2 wheels. I've bought and returned probably 3 sets over the last 5 years -- no luck yet. I guess I specifically need the oem center caps for a 2000-2006 GMC with factory PY0 wheels.

yeah most people are asking $100 a piece for them. having a hard time stomaching that for a plastic cover. I tried several knockoff aftermarket ones but they either dont fit over the full float hub or they are too big in diameter and dont sit inside the inner ridge of the h2 wheels. Im guessing the aftermarket molds are not exactly the same. I know I've got another thats pretty loose up front so im gonna need more than 1. Normally I'd just replace them all but $400 for center caps .

When I bought the truck it had 22s on it with chrome rims that were chipping and rusting on the inside and was causing the tires to deflate. I didn't want to get the rims ground down to fix them because it would have cost me as much as a new set of rims. After a year I went down to 18s and new rims. I wanted black to go with the dark color scheme. I think it looks better imo. Working on getting smoked lens covers. Also getting a black grill.

Way better look. I have owned several trucks and Harley's and de-chromed them all. The new to us 2004 Silverado, has the factory chrome look 8 lug wheels and they look just fine but eventually they will be changed. I like a contrast look. A brushed aluminum with a dark color look. I like a silver truck with black accents. That 2004 will end up with black wheels sometime.

Probably gonna make a thread, but almost finished pulling together all the pieces to make an electric fan conversion that I've not really seen before using two huge 19in/800w pwm fans. Already got used fans from FB and all wiring, controllers are in the mail, and Im collecting the sheet metal to make the shroud with today or tomorrow. Got most of next week off to get it built.

So....you have to make a shroud or are you making a way to mount the fans? The fans in the pic have shrouds. Right? Or am I missing something?

Yes and kinda. After I make my template out of cardboard, I am going to trim off most of the plastic around those fans, leaving just enough plastic around each one to use as a flange that will bolt through and into a steel shroud that I'll make. I'd do aluminum, but my cheapo welder is flux-core only and I predict there will be some of that... Where there's any sizable space left in the corners of the shroud I'll end making my own shutters. I really doubt there's room to trim these in such a way to keep some of the shutters already there, but maybe I'll be able to keep one or two.

The radiator core is 37.7 wide, 19.5 tall, because of the shroud offset, it will really sit a bit over the caps, so I really get about 40inches of width to work with and because of a gap top and bottom, I get about 21inches in height. In that image, the outside diameter of the blades is 19.5in, so not a whole lot of extra room.

I have twin OE fans on my 2005 Tahoe Z71 and from center of bolt to center of bolt across the top, is 33" to 33.5" and the core is approx. 35" to 35.5".

The height is approx. 18" give or take.
